Uganda starts Ebola Screening at Entebbe Airport
After the reported Ebola-positive cases in Mubende, the ministry of health in Uganda is putting strict restrictions to curb the widespread. The first cases were confirmed in Madudu village. All patients were isolated in Mubende referral hospital. The Ebola victims include health workers. One of the doctors died. People in communities are sensitized on how to avoid the spread of this dangerous virus.
Uganda has taken a step to trace more positive cases by screening incoming and outgoing travelers at Entebbe Airport. The ministry of health set up a facility to check the temperature levels for all travelers. Officials use modern thermo scanners for this exercise.
All people with scary symptoms are directed to the isolation center. Their blood samples are taken for review. Symptoms of the Ebola virus include fever, headache, loss of appetite, sore throat, body aches, abdominal pain, bleeding, and fatigue.
You can catch this virus after getting into contact with the blood, saliva, urine, sweat, and semen of an infected person. It cannot transmit through the air like the deadly Covid-19 Virus. Doctors and other health workers are at high risk of contracting the virus. That is why there are advised to wear protective gears before attending to a patient.
Foreign countries like the United States of America also started mandatory checking and 21 days of quarantine for all incoming travelers from Uganda. The intention is to limit the importation of the Ebola virus.
