How to Get There & Around

There are route options that can lead you to Gulu town. One starts from Kampala and proceed via Kampala – Jinja – Mbale highway. Another route starts from Kampala via Kampala – Masindi – Gulu highway.

The second option is the shortest and perfect for those who are starting with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and the notable Murchison Falls National Park. Then those who fancy exploring Jinja and a glimpse of Mbale town, you are meant to use the other route.

Getting there is very easy, you can use public means and sit with locals or hire a private car with a driver to drive you up to Gulu. Hiring a car is more convenient and recommended for tourists.

If not that, you can book an airport taxi to Gulu. Most tourists who are heading to Kidepo Valley National Park usually stop here for a night stay.
