Entebbe Airport Intercepts 50 Travelers with Fake Covid-19 Tests
Officials at Entebbe airport blocked 50 Ugandans from boarding the plane for their trip to the Middle East due to ownership of fake Covid-19 test results.
These people were traveling with Qatar airways to Saudi Arabia for casual work. Responsible authorities condemned this and argued travelers to do authentic tests from the recognized laboratories.
EBB immigration desk is now keener on the PCR tests. This comes after it’s discovered that most Ugandans use false Covid-19 results to travel. In June, most travelers from Uganda, especially nationals tested positive at their next destinations.
This incidence first appeared at the Dubai airport. This is the main reason why the UAE and Rwanda decided to ban entry for all passengers from the pearl of Africa. Later on, Rwanda Air and the Fly Emirates suspended their flights to EBB airport except for the transit flights.
Right now, all passengers who are exiting the country for work abroad are required to do the Covid-19 tests 24 hours before they board.
