44 Trafficked Youth intercepted at Entebbe Airport
After opening Entebbe Airport, many travelers are denied permission out of the country including the 44 youths who were being trafficked to the Middle-east.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson “Patrick Onyango,” these youths were heading to Dubai for work. They included girls and a man. The first phase of an opening indicated that the airport is only open to tourists.
Onyango added on that the group was departing the country on tourists Visas by Fly Dubai. No suspect who led the trafficking has been arrested, but the hunt is on.
All intercepted travelers recorded statements that highlight their departure and after they were ordered to return to their homes.
Uganda Association of External Recruitment Agencies, an organization that partners with police to fight human trafficking came in to give counseling and piece of advice to these young ladies who were determined to go for work abroad in these hard times of the pandemic.
