Air Arabia starts Direct flights from UAE to Entebbe Airport
Based in Sharjah, Air Arabia is another low-cost airline in the United Arab Emirates. It offers flights to various parts of the World.
Next on the list is Uganda, a remarkable country in the Eastern part of Africa. Starting 10th October 2021, the carrier will operate direct flights from Sharjah international airport to EBB airport.
The General Sales Agent (GSA) Arab Air in Uganda, Mr. Ibrahim Abdisalam, the company’s general sales agent in Uganda said that the airline is set to increase its frequency in the nation and serve the large demand for Ugandans and other nationals traveling to and from the UAE.
He added on and explained in the statements below.
“After a long study, we managed to successfully start our flights to Entebbe today with about 8o passengers. The return flight was fully booked. We hope all the next flights will be fully booked, we shall be operating three flights a week, on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday,”
The airline provides a low-cost travel experience to the Middle East countries like the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The state minister for works in charge of transport, Mr. Fred Byamukama said the introduction of this airline in the aviation sector will boost business for Ugandans.
Mr. Byamukama said the expansion of the Airport will enable the increasing number of airlines that operate in Uganda to conduct business smoothly.
The addition of airline operators will help achieve the government’s objective of developing an air transport network that will connect Uganda to all major cities in the world.
Right now the government is implementing the first phase for the upgrade and expansion of facilities at Entebbe International Airport.
This is intended to create space for current and future air traffic and also make it comply with the safety requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organizations. After phase 1 of the construction next will be phase 2 worth $125 million.
