All Travelers Arriving at Entebbe Airport Test for Covid-19
The new directive requires all travelers arriving at Entebbe airport and other entry points to test for Covid-19.
It was meant to start on 03 September 2021, but an inter-ministerial committee meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja resolved that the move is halted for two weeks as consultations go on.
The suggestion is now approved. On Wednesday, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the minister of ICT and National Guidance revealed this as below.
“It was agreed that all travelers entering the borders including Entebbe International Airport would undergo a mandatory sample removal for testing Covid-19,”
At first, travelers were supposed to pay $65, but it’s now reduced to $30. It is further agreed that all tests shall be carried out by the government.
Not private laboratories. The testing center will shift from Penial beach hotel to the newly established premises at Entebbe airport. According to the minister, all visitors with tourist visas will receive a special treat.
