Driving From Entebbe Airport/Kampala to Sipi Falls
Driving from Kampala or Entebbe airport to Sipi falls is one of the most enchanting road trips in Uganda. It requires about 5-6 hours in a private car. If you hope to have this adventure, make sure to drive very early in the morning when Kampala to Jinja road is traffic-free.
There is a lot to appreciate along the way. For foodies, don’t forget to stop in Namawojjolo and taste some of Uganda’s local dishes like Muchomo. After Lugazi town, you are spoilt by unending spectacular views of sugar cane plantations.
Next is the Mabira forest and the Nile Bridge, a structure that enables you to cross from central to the eastern part of Uganda. This bridge spans over the notable River Nile. You can choose to have a stopover in Jinja.
After, continue with the journey via Tirinyi road. You branch off at Nakalama to join Mbale – Tirinyi route and drive for about 1-2 hours up to Mbale town.
From here, you connect to Mbale – Moroto road for your 1-2 hour journey to Sipi. Arrive at Sipi River Lodge or any other accommodation facility you may choose in the area.
