Kenya Airways Cuts its Flights To Entebbe Airport
Kenya Airways Flights To Entebbe Airport
Kenya Airways joins the list of international airlines that have decided to halt their flight operations to the EBB airport.
Emirates was the first air travel company to suspend its flights from Uganda to Dubai. It came after the government of UAE announced a ban on passenger entry from Uganda due to the surging Covid-19 new cases.
Few days after Emirates’ decision, Rwanda Air also took a decision and suspended all its flights to and from EBB. This is meant to limit the importation of the new dangerous Covid-19 variants.
Kenya Airways revealed that there are experiencing a reduced demand on their route. This is due to the recently imposed 42-day lock down.
Therefore they see no reason why they should have all the flights active yet there are few customers. Reports indicate that KQ has cut the number of flights from 12 a week to nine.
Uganda is at the moment battling the third wave. It has led to a total lock-down in this nation with restrictions on movement from one district to another, suspension of public and private transport, closure of schools, churches, social gatherings, and more.
