Visit the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center
Established in 1952, the Uganda wildlife conservation education center popularly known as the Zoo is located on plot 56/57 Lugard Avenue in Entebbe. It is home to most wildlife species in the Uganda biodiversity except the gorillas. It includes animals, reptiles, bird species, plant species and primates. All these creatures are protected in cages to prevent them from moving around or escaping.
In short form, it is termed as UWEC. It is one of the renowned allures to see before you leave Entebbe. This protected area is open during day time and welcomes both foreign visitors and local Ugandans. Entry permission is issued at a cost. After clearing at the gate, you are given a guide who is ready to take you around while feeding you with various information.
While at the Uganda wildlife conservation education center, expect to see the chimpanzee primates, monkeys, snakes, rhinoceros, giraffes, shoebill, antelopes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, leopards and more. A day spent at this place is worth it.
